What problems do wildlife cause?

Most of the calls we get are because homeowners hear animals scurrying around inside the attic or walls. Most of the damage inside a houes or attic is unseen. Rodents like squirrels, mice, and rats often chew on electrical wires. Wildlife such as raccoons, bats, birds, opossums, and rats spread several diseases that humans can and do catch, such as Histoplasmosis, Salmonella, Leptospirosis and more. Many critters leave droppings and urine in an attic or cause mold or odor problems. We also handle animals outside the house. It could be a critter that has dug a large hole next to your house, or a raccoon in your garbage cans, an opossum that is stealing pet food, or a skunk living under your deck, causing an odor problem. Some animals destroy your garden or landscaping. Or perhaps you are simply scared of snakes. Whatever the problem is, our wildlife experts can remove the source of the problem, and prevent it from happening again. We are not a Boise extermination company, nor pest control. We are dedicated Boise wildlife control experts.

Do Raccoons Climb Fences?
Raccoons are cute little animals, but they have some very bad Boise raccoon removal habits that can wreak havoc in your yard, garden, or house. These habits soon become very annoying, making them known as nuisance critters. Many wild animals can be kept out of your yard or garden simply by fencing it. But there are some, like the raccoon, who will find a way under, though, or over the Boise snake removal fence any way that it can.

Can Raccoons Climb Fences?
The short Boise rat control answer is Yes. They can also dig under the fence, remove loose boards in a board fence, or enlarge a hole in a wire fence. There have even been Boise bat removal reports of raccoons finding their way to the top of a six-foot block wall. Raccoons can also climb trees, which, when strategically placed, allows them to get onto the roof of a house, shed or other outbuilding.

What to Do
If you can’t fence them out, what can you do to keep the pesky Boise rodent extermination critters from eating your garden before you do, or fishing in your koi pond? Well, there are some ways you can fence them out. One way is to use a small wire mesh fencing. Dig down a minimum of six inches—some say two feet—then lay it over about a foot. Then replace the dirt over the top of it. Make certain the wire is pulled tight with no floppy places to make access easy. Add a strand or two of barbed wire at the top. If none of this deters the determined creatures, then add a strand or two of low-voltage electric fence. Or, you may want to dispense with the other fence entirely and just go with a couple of strands of electric fence.

Place the first Boise bird control strand about 6 inches off the ground and the second one at twelve inches. Fasten the two wire strands to wooden posts that are evenly spaced around the area to be fenced. Be sure that the wire doesn’t touch any plant material, or it will be grounded. Keep the area around the wires trimmed down with a weed eater. The electric fence only has to be on from dusk until dawn. It’s possible that after a couple of contacts with it, the raccoons will decide that your yard isn’t the best place for them to be and will leave altogether. Just be careful to properly mark an electric fence.
